What is Leadership Crawford County?

Leadership Crawford County (LCC) was established in 2004. Leadership Crawford County originated as the group project of some local individuals attending Leadership Terre Haute. It is comprised of individuals who want to make a difference in their community. Some of the class members have lived in Crawford County all of their life, while others have transferred in from all over the United States. The class members have collectively chosen to work together as a team and make a difference in Crawford County. The class is guided by a Board consisting of 10 members. These individuals have completed a leadership course similar to this one.

LCC operates on a nine month schedule. The kickoff is in September during a 2 day retreat in Monticello, IL at Allerton Park. Participants work together on a team building challenge course and hone their leadership skills. Class meetings are on the second Wednesday of each month thereafter. Each month, there is a different topic to enable the class to learn more about Crawford County and all it has to offer. The topics include: Government and Law Enforcement, Education, Business & Industry, Agriculture, Springfield Day, Media & Leisure, and Healthcare.
